Pangelinan Presents on Workplace Harassment

CJP's Michael A. Pangelinan and Jeffrey Sablan, Fair Employment Practice Officer and FEPA Administrator from the Guam Department of Labor made a presentation to the Guam chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) on February 7, 2024 entitled "Preventing Workplace Harassment". Mr. Pangelinan is the VP of Legislative Affairs for the SHRM Guam Chapter.

Jacob Appointed to Ninth Circuit Lawyer Coordinating Committee

CJP's Rodney Jacob has been appointed as the Ninth Circuit Lawyer Coordinating Committee Representative for the District of Guam.  According to the Court's press release:

Court Rules SSI Benefits Cannot Be Denied to Citizens of Guam

In December 2018, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Calvo Fisher & Jacob LLP, and Farrell & Reisinger LLC  filed two lawsuits against the Social Security Administration challenging the U.S. government’s policy of refusing to provide Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability benefits to American citizens living on Guam. 

CFJ Assists Guam Hotels in Negotiating Contract with Navy to Accommodate 5,000 USS Roosevelt Sailors Quarantined on Guam

The outbreak of COVID-19 on the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt while docked in Guam made worldwide headlines.  After the U.S. Navy decided to quarantine all crew members who had tested negative in eleven (11) hotels on the island, Calvo Fisher & Jacob (CFJ) was a retained by the Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association (GHRA) to represent it in negotiations with the Navy.
